Garden #2

Garden #2

Tackling the ivy πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸŒΎ

It’s a 4 day weekend, it’s not raining, infact it’s even quite sunny, and so perfect to get back to The Garden Project! β˜€οΈ

I spent the morning sowing some more seeds. I’m probably late with a lot of them, but hoping to save money on buying bedding plants. I am working with a lot of out of date packets of old seeds but I didn’t want to waste them so decided to plant them all and see what happens!

I’ll either have no seedlings or hundreds! πŸ˜‚

After lunch I got back out to the jungle beds and set about digging up the ivy! My little robin friend made a return (you can see him in the post header image).

It was bloody hard work even with very wet easy to work soil! The wetness also extends to the lawn which doesn’t get a lot of sunlight and with it’s high moss content tends to stay very boggy and squishy. After a while I’d trod it down to a muddy mess.. mixed with some of the soil falling out the bed as I wrenched up the ivy.

Fucked up the lawn a bit πŸ˜‚

The lawn is now quite fucked πŸ™ˆ my partner’s not so thrilled about that.. but it can’t be helped and I’m sure the lawn will be fine in time!

Speaking of, that really needs a cut but it’s still so wet I’m not sure what to do about it!

I am knackered now, and covered in mud! Definitely feel like I earned homemade pizza and the rest of the bottle of red I opened last night!

The garden bin is overflowing now but thankfully the council collections should start again this week!

Bonus photos of a neighbour’s glorious magnolia tree!

Thank you! Yeah it seems such a waste when they *might* work! We’ll see! πŸ™πŸ»
