Everything is growing like crazy with the sun and rain we’ve had recently!
Although the heavy rain battered the rhododendron, it sort of looked like it melted. And the blooms on spirea in the corner have gone brown so the back end of the garden is looking a lot less spectacular than it did a couple of weeks ago!

At least I can get started cutting back the spirea now and finally tidy up under there.
In more exciting news the mystery rose has bloomed and it’s a love bright pink. I’m so glad I tied it to the trellis!

We also now have a lovely big peony in bloom!

And this cool thing! Which Google lens said is Allium siculum. The bees absolutely love it!

Today I got outside to do a bit of tidying up, and the plant out my dwarf cosmos and the three new perennials I got this morning from the green grocers!
The sunflowers I planted out last weekend have already grown well, I am really excited about them! I love sunflowers and I missed having any last year. My Mum gifted me these 4 which I’m very grateful for! I had only successfully germinated one harlequin sunflower from my packets of out of date seeds… And it got eaten by a bastard snail in my mini greenhouse! π
We still need to finish painting the fence but annoyingly rain is forcast for most of the bank holiday weekend. I’m dying to tidy up the last section now and the brambles out which are really growing like mad, hoping to find some time to get again over the weekend! I also want to get some bedding plants for my patio containers soon!
