New bathroom (+ cats)

New bathroom (+ cats)

We absolutely love our new bathroom! We had several delays with our fitter so it took many months to actually come to fruition but it’s everything we dreamed of.

The tiles are gorgeous and immaculately fitted, and the brass goes so well with the green.

We have loads more storage now with six draws in our double cabinet, and the mirror is a cabinet too which has really improved my morning and evening routines. Plus it has a socket in it so we can actually charge the electric toothbrush on the bathroom. No more having to remember to take it to another room to charge! (Which 90% of the time I’d forget to do by the time I was finished in the bathroom).

Before we had one of those sinks that takes up the whole top of a cabinet with no storage space for bits and bobs. Now my tooth brush and moisturiser are right there together in the cabinet and for the first time in my life it’s helped me stick to actually moisturising every morning and evening!

The giant leaf tiles in the shower were where it all started. I knew I wanted them as soon as it saw them in the shop and was amazed with Fiance also liked them. He was very taken with the idea of a “jungle shower!”

We’ve had it a couple of months now and it still feels magical! Plus the squared shape and flat hinged door is way easier to keep clean than the stupid curved corner shower with sliding doors we had before.

The cats love the bathroom too! Now the windowsill doesn’t have to be covered with bottles they love to sunbathe there.

Kitler actually loves to roll around in the new bathroom, which is a bit smaller and narrowed than the old one. It’s cute but also means there is always fur in there so I’ve had to start hoovering in the bath!

Here they are “helping” me to fill the drawers.

Here we have Kitler lounging on the bathmat that she’s apparently folded up to make a pillow!

  1. The cats have good taste, that’s why they love the bathroom too, lol.
Love the colors and the brass hardware does look great against that green.

It’s gorgeous! The tiles look so much better offset in that way than they would have if the cream and green followed the same columns all the way to the ceiling, so it was a happy accident that you needed to do so. My bathroom is narrower than yours, so I think I would have difficulty doing something similar, but you have definitely got me thinking. That’s going to be a few years away though, as I need to build in downstairs first.
This bathroom may have taken longer than you expected but looking at these pics, it was definitely worth the wait.
