Joy #3

It turns out I feel the need for this exercise during day 18-21 of my menstrual cycle! The last two posts in this series were about 4 weeks apart, so seems like it’s going to be monthly! πŸ˜‚

Hormones are fun.

So yeah, it’s my week to be tired and emotionally flat and everything just feels so much harder than usual, plus work has been overwhelming, so I just want to remember the gooder times!

1. Carcassonne was fantastic, I loved it and I keep looking at all my photos! We got some really lovely new couple ones which I’m super glad of because we’re not always good at remembering to do that and we really needed some new ones! πŸ’•

2. I am really loving my hair at the moment! I have been growing it for a while, and a couple of weeks ago I finally got it cut and had some long layers put in so it’s looking so much better. I’ve been enjoying having it up with claw clips lately and like that look with my fringe.

3. I’m really seeing the progress I’ve made with the garden, and in getting so excited every time a new bloom appears 🌻

4. On one of my grumpy days I decided to put on some episodes of The Office US to cheer me up and it has now triggered a whole rewatch. Michael Scott brings me to tears with laughter! πŸ˜‚

5. We had a lovely family afternoon tea for my Nana’s birthday the other weekend. It felt relaxed for once and easier to have conversation, because none of the dogs were there! We have two energetic puppies in the family at the moment, they’re cute but they’re chaotic and noisy when together!

6. I treated myself to new shoes! I’ve had my eye on the Doc Marten Carlson Mules for over a year (since my sister got a pair) and I finally got them in a sale!

7. Kitty cuddles, always! It’s still cool enough to wrap up Kitler like a baby in a blanket on my lap when I’m at my desk. She seems to like it!

8. I’ve kept up making myself healthier lunches and breakfasts. I’ve really been enjoying having an orange, greek yoghurt and muesli in the morning! 🍊

9. I had a lovely meet up with one of my university friends (We’ve known each other 18 years! Half our lives now!) . We live in different cities and only get together every 6ish months but it never feels like so much time has passed.

10. I enjoyed our Date Night game of Patchwork, we hadn’t played it for a while and I find it a fun, simple low stakes game. Even better that I somehow gave my partner a thrashing at it! πŸ†

11. I’ve had a good time with #WeblogPoMo2024! I feel good it pushed me to post a few more things than I’d have made time for ordinarily, and I’ve enjoyed exploring the tag to find more blogs on Mastodon.
