I want to start noting little moments of joy for the times I’m struggling to feel it (which is roughly every 21 days when I enter my luteal phase!).
It’s an idea I’ve seen other bloggers play with and I always love reading them!
The last few days I’ve felt tense and on edge. It’s felt harder to enjoy things. Almost every social interaction I’ve had came with a jolt of anxiety.
All for no reason other than hormonal changes!
But, good things happened too!
1. I got really nice comments at work on how I’ve been exceeding expectations in this new job (I always note these for myself in my daily notes).
2. I watched the first parts of the embroidery portrait course I’m taking and got super excited about it!
3. I got loads of favourites, boosts and lovely comments on Mastodon and the blog for Vacation Picard!
4. After reading Dragon Rambles UK trip chocolate haul I rushed out to get my hands on some “lamb & mint egg sandwiches” because they tickled me so much! I spent a small fortune, but I’m excited to give them to my family on Sunday.

5. I loved looking through hundreds of the photos my partner and I have of the cats to pick the perfect ones to make portraits from. Those silly little beasts do warm my heart!
6. My hair has been cooperative this week. I think I finally worked out how to do a consistent half-up/half-down top knot which keeps it out of my face and looks good (I think). I’m also feeling good about my fringe now I finally cracked his to blow dry out my cow lick!
7. I am really enjoying rewatching the X-Men cartoon.
8. Coming home from a day at the office to find my partner waiting with dinner already on the table for me! Those fish fingers were a welcome surprise!
9. Last night I made a really simple dinner of pasta, leftover over bits of red onion and orange pepper that needed using up, frozen peas, tinned tuna and the remainder of the Philadelphia from the (very successful) Maltesers cheesecake I made for mother’s day. It was delicious, and a reminder of a 10 min meal I’d not made in years!
10. It’s now a long bank holiday 4 day weekend!
