This week the prompt was to pick an item and list books that feature it on the cover. This was a bit of a chore, the covers of books read are pretty varied so I had to get vague to stretch a category to get at least 10! I had to scroll through my Goodreads history and figure out what I’d read with common events on the cover, in the end I went with “creature” to include animals and insects.
I’ve also narrowed down to books I have actually read, so titles link to my reviews.

- Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor: moths feature on the cover and prominently within the story. An original and almost flawless YA fantasy.. if it hadn’t been for the cringe romance.
- The Confession by Jessie Burton: the green rabbit on the cover turns out to have some significance. I enjoyed this audiobook.
- Hoofin It by R.J. Blain: misleading alpaca on the cover and the blurb! Alpaca only features early on, is not a sidekick.
- Weyward by Emilia Hart: the nature elements were the best bits of this disappointing book.
- Bunny by Mona Awad: Are creative writing students sacrificing harmless bunny rabbits to turn them into hot men?
- This Is How You Lose The Time War: this book pissed me off, but it has birds on the cover.
- The Rosie Project by Graham Simsion: a little dated now but a sweet little Aussie rom-com from the male point of view is novel, with a love lobster on the cover.
- Foe by Iain Reid: the original cover has beetles on it, pay attention to them in the story!
- Animal Farm by George Orwell: obviously! I highly recommend the audiobook read by Stephen Fry!
- Good Behaviour by Molly Keane: a variant cover has rabbits on it. This novel is a masterpiece, even if I didn’t have a great time with it, Iβve thought about it a lot since!

Great list! I’ve wanted to read Strange the Reader for years now π

Strange The Dreamer is a great book, except it has a very juvenile and boring romance plot but I think it is worth skim reading past all that because the rest of the story was really great!
Bunny is on my list today too! (I picked rabbits) Looks like I need to read The Confession!
There seems to be a lot of books with rabbits on the cover! The Confession isn’t rabbit heavy but there is a bit where you’re like “oh that’s why it’s on the cover” π
My books aren’t that varied and I still found it difficult to find 10 with 10 different authors of my topic. Hoofin It has a good cover but after you said the Alpaca isn’t really the feature I don’t think I’d pick up the book. I want my books to carry the theme throughout.
Please don’t read Hoofin’ It π it’s awful! I DNF’d at 20%, with nothing to recommend it! I have a review/rant. I’ve never read writing so repetitive, it was a little mind blowing.
Now reading Bunny, and it certainly seems so. I suspect thereβs something more going onβ¦ maybe. Iβm only 100 pages in.
This is the fun of reading Bunny! I look forward to your thoughts!
Hoofin It looks interesting.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
I do not recommend Hoofin’ It π it’s terrible, I couldn’t get past 20%. Maybe read my review/rant first.
A great collection of covers!

I love that cover for Weyward. It looks so much different than the copy I read. I hope you have a great week.

An alpaca! Great find. Too bad the book’s so horrible. An alpaca sidekick would be AWESOME.
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

It would be, someone should actually write that book π
What a fun topic, I love animals so I love the variety included in ‘creature’! The only one I’ve read is Animal Farm but Foe, Strange the Dreamer, and Weyward are on my tbr!
