It’s a new month! It’s the weekend, we’re going to get desserts with friends and see Deadpool & Wolverine tonight! We’ve got a 2 day week next week to look forward to, but also I seem to have physically and mentally fallen apart over the last couple of days!
I’ve got a very itchy insect bite on my right ankle that keeps swelling up (foolishly went for a walk through long grass), my right eye is sore and slightly swollen (don’t know why!), and I have a big bruise on my left leg (when did I do that!).
My social anxiety is firing off for no reason too! I went for after work drinks last night which was nice but immediately afterwards my brain started analysing every thing I said and every interaction… and I’m now trying to ride that flood of insecurity out!
Oh and I just got my period so my brain and motivation are melting!
But it’s not all bad! Time for a Life Is Good reminder list!
1. My days off were definitely necessary, I’m grateful to myself for taking them! I had a perfect sunny Friday all day in the garden just chilling, listening to my book and working on my embroidery!

2. The sun π gets it’s own point because he’s had his hat on for the last couple of weekends! Sitting outside relaxing has been like taking a warm bath.
3. The garden is full of colour! It lifts my soul every time I look out and see it.
4. We finally replaced the side gate. Having a gate that doesn’t fall out the wall every time you open it is a dream! It just opens and closes with no struggle! We also finally got an outdoor tap which is making watering the garden so much quicker and easier! One bit at a time we’re removing the friction of life in this house!
5. After reading Alias (and Breaking The Dark), and watching the X-Men cartoons earlier this year, I am feeling excited about Marvel and comic books again! I am loving having Marvel Unlimited, I forgot how reading comics is so addictive! The app works so well on my phone too I can get through an issue or two on my lunch break or on the bus!
6. I am very hyped on how my Cat Portrait is coming along! I’m always reminding myself to “trust the process” and it’s finally coming together now.

7. I made a fantastic red sauce for pasta and Quorn meatballs the other week. Maybe the best one! I added some roasted red peppers from a jar and for the first time I blended it and then chucked in some chopped frozen spinach for extra iron at the end, and it turned out so well! When I make it again I need to write down the recipe.
8. I got very excited about The Acolyte recently, I didn’t think I’d ever think or write so much about Star Wars! It felt like I had been ages since TV had got me so fired up.
9. I have been out for a few runs (when I say run I mean very slow jog) recently, and done a couple of skipping rope sessions… And it feels good! I’m not forcing myself to do it, just harnessing any kernel of motivation I get. If I go for a jog just 10-15 mins around the block is totally fine, maybe eventually I’ll feel like I want to go for longer but I’m not going to force myself and turn it into a chore!
10. This sounds so stupid but I remembered that music makes me feel good! This week work has a been a bit less mentally intense so I’ve had music on most of the day, and with my standing desk I can even jig about to it while I work – getting more feel good movement into my day!
