This morning as I perused my RSS feed, and read Veronique’s latest post, I discovered the existence of #WeblogPoMo2024!
You can read all about it on Annie Greens blog here (which is super cute, I’d never come across these .lol domain sites before!) but in a nutshell it’s the Weblog Post Month, a take on NaNoWriMo aka National Novel Writing Month. Super simple – just post everyday, or as much as you can, in the month of May!
I have done NaNoWriMo twice before (many years ago) which never resulted in a finished anything, or even anything good (God, I wonder if I still have those files somewhere…), but I did quite enjoy the challenge of it and having the extra reason to sit myself down to write each day.
Blogging will be I think less pressure and more fun, potentially more personally creative, than attempting to force out a coherent story from my brain! (I just don’t know if I have one in there!)
I think May is a great month for me to attempt to post every day!
1. My 36th birthday is coming up (around the same time my period is due π) so I’m likely to get into a reflective mood.
2. We’ve a little trip to France soon which is good blog fodder!
3. I’ve got a couple of spare days off work in the mix too.
4. It’s Eurovision on the 11th! Another good blog topic!
I also have two “regularly scheduled” posts due once I finish the drafts: a review of Wool by Hugh Howey and my April Reading Roundup.
Plenty to keep me going. The only sticky point might be if the WiFi is bad for me in France, but we can work around that I’m sure.
I’m excited about this idea!
