This week’s prompt is: The Ten Most Recent Additions to My Book Collection (or to your to-read list!).

A nice easy one this week for me! Since 99% of the books I buy are Kindle eBooks all I had to do was go to my Amazon digital content history! I’ve shared before about how I do this, but essentially anything I am interested in reading I’ll add to my “Reading List” on Amazon and every day or two I check that to see if any have popped onto 99p daily deals. So all of these books below I got for just 99p!

On my Kindle, I have a “TBR” Collection and that is what I am referring to most of the time when I talk about a TBR list! Currently, I have 48 books in there, and my goal for this year is to try to read more than I buy! I am actually quite impressed that this is 6 months’ worth of purchases, I don’t think that’s bad at all. I have already read two of these.

  1. This Time Tomorrow by Emma Straub – I think I just saw this in the BookBub email list and thought it sounded interesting.
  2. A Lady’s Guide to Scandal by Sophie Irwin – I quite liked A Lady’s Guide To Fortune-Hunting so thought I’d give the follow-up a go.
  3. Kala by Colin Walsh – I read a great review for this on someone’s blog that I now can’t remember, which makes me think I really should start tracking recommendations!
  4. Rouge by Mona Awad – You know I love her. And that I always promise I will write up my thoughts on this soon…
  5. The Book of Witching by C.J. Cooke – I enjoyed two books previously by this author, but I’m hoping maybe she’ll give me a satisfying conclusion in one… (probably not, doesn’t seem to be her style!).
  6. Sweet Bean Paste by Durian Sukegawa – I think I saw a BookTuber review this one which is how it got on my list, it was probably someone like Jack Edwards.
  7. Sweetpea by C.J. Skuse – This one is actually because Emma Purnell, who stars in the TV adaption, was so hilarious on the Off Menu Podcast when she was promoting it (having only seen her in Yellowjackets and Fallout – two favourite TV shows – I had no idea she was English, or such an absolute weirdo!). Nothing to do with the book but it made me aware of the book, and it sounds like the kind of thing I like!
  8. The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston – I think this popped on my radar via The Orang-utan Librarian. I quite enjoyed it, you can click the title to read my review.
  9. Anxious People by Fredrik Backman – I have nearly bought this before so many times, it had a period of being on deal a lot in the BookBub email, and I finally decided to just get it so I can stop looking at it and find out if it is for me or not!
  10. The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi by Shannon Chakraborty – This I remember because it was just last week! I watched mynameismarines rave about it in her Best of 2025 video and I immediately found it was only 99p.

I hope so too, it’s not my usual kind of read but the protagonist sounded so interesting!

  1. I actually just bought a physical copy of THE SEVEN YEAR SLIP. It’s my book club’s pick for February and it sounds fun. I hope you enjoy it and all these others!

    Happy TTT!
