10 Loose Reading Goals for 2025

10 Loose Reading Goals for 2025

This week’s prompt is: Bookish Goals for 2025

1. My total Reading Challenge goal on Goodreads is currently set to 80 books, which I think should be doable with comic books and audiobooks in the mix. This number is generally fairly arbitrarily set based on what I feel will be attainable! This was actually a good reminder to update the widget on my Books homepage!

2. I want to keep reading comic books on Marvel Unlimited, and I plan to explore X-Men and other titles I’ve not read before. My main goal is to make the most of that subscription!

3. I want to use audiobooks potentially for some re-reads, and hopefully get through more as the background to my new drive with fitness routines! I hope good audiobooks will aid motivation for more walks, jogs and strength workouts, and gardening when we get to the spring!

4. I feel like I waste time endlessly scrolling apps trying to find new audiobooks so I’d really like to get better organised and try to keep a list of ones I am interested in, which includes the length of them, to help me with planning the best use of Spotify Preumium’s 15 hours a month! At the moment, I’m sourcing books through BorrowBox, Spotify and occasionally Audible and I lose track of what books I’d identify as potential reads. Also keeping track of narrators I like (or can’t stand!) would help me better select books.

5. I want to finish The Expanse series, finally! I am up to book 6 in my reread, then there are three more to go that I’ve never read before!

6. There are some books I’d like to reread this year: V.E. Schwab’s Shades of Magic is near the top of that list.

7. I would like to read more books from my Kindle ebook collection than I buy new ones! I broke almost even this year but bought three more than I read, and I still have 48 waiting in my TBR folder!

8. I still need to finish organising our physical home library, and there are some favourite books I want to buy print copies of. Equally, there are some I need to get around to donating (so I don’t have to look at that bloody All Souls Trilogy any more and have it piss me off!)!

9. I want to finally read at least one of those Margaret Atwood books I keep putting on every TBR list!

10. I want to finally write up a review with some analysis of Rouge by Mona Awad, as I say I will do in every other blog post! I am excited to do that, but time just flies, there is never enough of it!

  1. Great ideas for the reading year! I too want to read what I already own and that’s a lot of unread books right now. 😊

    Happy new creative year!

Yikes -20c is definitely too cold! πŸ₯Ά

  2. I didn’t used to like audiobooks, but now I find them SO great for helping me get through tedious tasks like housework, driving, and exercising. I only allow myself to listen if I’m doing those things, which helps motivate me to do them. Good luck with all your goals!

    Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

  3. Great ideas! Good luck on hitting those goals. I’d also like to continue with the Expanse series this year.
