Garden #9

Garden #9

It’s been quite a while since my last garden update! Life has been busy and the weather has been crap so I’ve spent less time out there.

The headline is that I finally have some tomatoes! This is very exciting.. however we’re hitting a cold snap this week in the UK so I’m not sure how many of them will make it to red!

In truth now most of the flowers are fading fast but I took some photos a couple of weeks ago when things were still vibrant!

I moved some bidens I’d planted in a different spot that turned out to be too shady after eventing else around them grew too tall! They’re much happier in the new spot.

The cosmos I put in went crazy! I’d only planted them in pots before so wasn’t quite expecting them to get so big!

My anemone perked up after I got better at keeping it watered! I’ll have to see how it gets on there next year, or maybe I’ll move it somewhere less sheltered from the rain.

The dianthus in the trellis planter looked awesome and so colourful spilling over the side! I loved seeing them from the kitchen window.

And my new camelia flowered though briefly!

And finally the rudbeckia by the house is flowering! It’s so vibrant, bringing some cheer while the annuals around it are dying off.

I really need to get on with planning what spring bulbs to plant, and actually planting them! Every year I miss out on this and am determined not to for 2025! I’ve also really got to get out and cut back my leggy lavender plants, if it ever stops raining this week!

Sorry that the growing season hasn’t been kind to you this year. Hopefully next year will be better so you can grow your tomatoes and get them ripe before the temperatures drop

It’s part growing season part my skill level πŸ˜‚ I forget how quick tomatoes will get out of control, and I think I’ve got them in a spot that’s too shady .. I have plans for next year!
