I’ve been taking advantage of summer finally starting to spend time outside enjoying the garden, soaking up vitamin D and getting some embroidery done!
The cat portrait has been slow going.. but it’s starting to come together and I’m feeling excited about it!
This was my progress from my day off a couple of weeks ago when I spent a full day outside listening to Breaking the Dark! This was the result of about 6 hours of work.

Then today I got another few hours while my partner’s parents visited. It was very enjoyable to stitch and chit chat in the garden!
I made a start on Valentine’s left ear which I wasn’t really sure how to tackle. It’s still a work in progress in the image below but I think it’ll look ok once I layer over the hairs.

That took me about 4 hours, although I was interrupted a fair bit. I only got 2 solid hours of stitching in.

I think it does look like our little Valentine though! I’m feeling pleased with how it’s going!
I’m hoping to making some more time in the evenings this week, but sometimes that is easier said than done!
